The Community Breakdown feature gives you an overview of the types of members in your community, and the growth and loss of players within your sources, among other metrics.
You can find the Community Breakdown feature by navigating to it in the side panel when viewing a game on the dashboard.
Community Breakdown
The first section of the Community Breakdown feature shows you the leading sources for the following metrics:
- Most New Members - members that only started posting recently
- Most Lapsed Members - members that have not posted recently
- Fastest Growing - increase in community size
- Fastest Falling - decrease in community size
For example, as we can see in the image below for Apex Legends, YouTube has the most new and lapsed members and is the fastest growing source, while Twitter is the fastest falling.
Below this, you can see charts for each source for your game that show the fluctuation of community size over time and how much the source has grown & lost. The largest number on each chart is how many members are currently in that community, the plus (+) number is how much it has grown in the set date range, and the minus (-) number is how many players the community has lost. Below we can see that Reddit for Apex has got over 16'570 new members but lost 22'578 members in the date range, which is set to the Last 8 Weeks.
There is a sources table below the charts which shows the growth, loss, change, and sentiment for each source. The change metric is how much the community in each source has grown or decreased in the set date range. For example, in the last 8 weeks, the community on YouTube has decreased by 22'305 players, however, YouTube Official has grown by 1195 so has gained more than lost. Clicking on a source's chart will highlight it in the sources table, as can be seen below for YouTube. You can also explore each individual source further by clicking the orange arrow.
Sentiment Drivers
Also in the Community Breakdown feature, you can find Sentiment Drivers. The Sentiment Drivers show the most positive and negative topics discussed by players within the sources for your game. You can also use the toggles above the drivers to view the most improving and decreasing topics and emerging topics. The drivers show the topic's volume, all-time and period sentiment, and the difference between these two. Again, you can use the orange arrow to explore a topic's data further.
Audience Type Segmentation
At the bottom of the page is the Audience Type Segmentation feature. This provides a breakdown of all the different types of members in your community, from your newest players to the most active members over the life of your game. For each type of member, you can see their sentiment, volume, community size, most discussed categories, and biggest talking points.
We have a separate helpdesk article on the Audience Type Segmentation feature here
This can give you a more detailed overview of the Audience Type Segmentation feature and how to use it to get the most benefits.
