There are currently up to twenty categories per game, and one page for each of them. Each of these twenty category pages is the same, only the data found within is different.
At the very top, as with all pages, is the date selector, allowing you to refine your results by time period. This can show you how a specific event, such as a patch rollout, content update, marketing campaign, widely shared story in the media, etc. affected your game. The orange dropdown next to it provides several shortcuts to quickly select a date range, or you can instead click on the start and end date to bring up calendars with which you can select a custom date range. The date selector moves onto the left-hand panel as you scroll down the page so that you don't have to scroll back up to the top of the page to change the date range.
There are also links to other pages on Player XP, and a simple visual to explain our sentiment ranges.
The first data aggregate visualisation on this page is the Summary, which displays the category's sentiment over the selected date range and the last 30 days, as well as the same for interactions and community size. There is also the Sources table which lists the data sources for your game and shows the number and percentage of interactions in the category from each source, as well as its sentiment.
Next down the page is the sentiment graphs, displaying how sentiment has changed over your date range compared to how it has across all of the other categories. Hovering over each point will show you the exact average sentiment score on either line. Depending on the game you're reviewing, the next visualisation could be a competitor comparison, showing you how the category sentiment compares to that of your game's competitors. Remember that you can ask us to add one or more competitor comparisons if you don't already have one and would like to see them in your data.
The proceeding is the Interactions bar chart, detailing the number of interactions detected regarding the category (blue bar) per month, week or day, alongside the community size (orange bar). This can be expressed as a percentage of the total, or as the raw numbers using the toggle in the top left of the chart. Hovering over each bar with your cursor shows you how the numbers are broken down by channel, including the total interactions represented by the bar, numerically and as a percentage.
Below the bar chart is the sentiment split for the category, showing the split in the sentiment of interactions for the category during the selected date range. You can hover over each bar to see the exact percentage of interactions for each month.
Next is the Sentiment Drivers which show both the top 5 most positive and negative topics discussed in the category. You can explore each topic further using the orange arrow to the right of each topic.
Next is the Talking Points table containing a list of topics ranked by the number of interactions in the category. Each topic is a word or short phrase related to the category. The columns list the number of positive mentions, negative mentions and the current sentiment and the change in sentiment over your selected date range. There is also the sentiment impact which is the impact the topic has on the game's overall sentiment, the community size, "most discussed in" which shows the icons of the top 4 categories the topic is most mentioned, and the volume of interactions over the selected date range. You can explore each topic using the orange arrow to the right, and view the Topic Cloud using the icon in the top right of the table.
Topic Page:
This topic page is almost identical to the category page, just above the Interaction Explorer at the bottom of the page, there is a Word Cloud centred around the topic. With this Word Cloud, you can see which words are most closely associated with the topic, as well as interactions related to the topic that Player XP has picked up. Clicking on any of the words in the cloud filters the list of interactions to the mentions that only include the selected word.
You can also navigate to the Topic Finder using the left panel if you would like to search for a specific topic to directly view. You can also filter the categories and sources the searched topic is mentioned in. Then click "Go To Topic" to further explore the data exclusively for that topic and its category.
