Player XP has a range of Settings on the Hub that allow you to completely customise your dashboard and game's data. This includes being able to switch the positions of graphs, determine how sentiment works, and much more.
On the Player XP Hub Page, navigate to Settings by clicking the cog icon on the left of the Games List and you will land on the "Dashboard Visuals" tab, shown below.
Here you will find the settings where you can customise your dashboard to your and your team's satisfaction. Continue reading to learn the impact of all these settings on your dashboard.
Enable Line Chart Smoothing
The first of these settings allows you to change how the lines on your sentiment charts appear. When enabled, the lines between date periods are 'smooth' like you would see in a typical graph as shown below.
When the toggle is disabled, the lines between date periods on the graph appear linear as shown below.
Sentiment Charts as Primary Chart
By default this feature is disabled, so unless you already have this enabled the standard layout on the dashboard will show the Interactions graphs at the top of the page. When this toggle is enabled, the Sentiment Change graphs will instead appear at the top of the page and the Interactions graph will be moved below (see example below).
Use Only Interactions Containing Category Discussion for Aggregations
When this setting is disabled, all interactions that we collect from your data sources are included in aggregations and shown in the volume count on the dashboard. However, if you enable this setting, interactions that have not been assigned to any Player XP Categories or Custom Categories will not be included in aggregations and will not show in your data.
Interactions not assigned to any Categories are usually comments that do not include any real feedback or are not directed toward a specific element of your game that is represented in the Player XP Categories.
Hide Empty Channels
When this setting is enabled, if your game has any empty channels (no data sources or interactions) then they will be hidden from your dashboard. For example, the game below does not have any interactions from the Internal channel so it does not appear on the dashboard.
If this is disabled, then all channels will show on your dashboard and channels that do not have any interactions will instead be greyed out, as shown below.
Tooltip Position Mode
You can choose from two options for the positioning of the tooltip. You can have the tooltip on charts follow your cursor when you hover over the feature or be stuck to its position on the feature. For example, on the Sentiment Split feature (shown below), the tooltip that appears when you hover over the feature will follow your cursor by default. However, if you set this to "Stick to Position", it is fixed in place when you hover over the feature.
Line of Best Fit Mode
When you enable the Line of Best Fit on a sentiment graph (shown below), you can choose to "Use Period Data" or "Use All Time Data". "Use Period Data" will only use data from within the date range you currently have set when calculating the Line of Best Fit. "Use All Time Data" will use all of your game's data since data collection started to calculate the Line of Best Fit.
Default Hub Sorting
This allows you to choose how you want your games sorted on the Player XP Hub. Your options are:
- Alphabetical
- All-Time Sentiment
- All-Time Interactions
- All-Time Community Members
- Last 30 Days Sentiment
- Last 30 Days Community Members
- Custom - this opens a list that allows you to manually sort your games (shown below)
Default Date Range
You can set the default date range that is automatically used when you first go into a game's Dynamic Report, Topic Finder or Interaction Explorer from the Hub. Your options are:
- Yesterday
- Last 7 Days
- 4 Weeks
- 8 Weeks
- Last 3 Months
- Last 6 Months
- Last 12 Months
- All Time - This date range will occur from the date Player XP started collecting data for your game to the present day
Issue Severity Sentiment
Issue Severity Sentiment is an alternate way in which our sentiment system can work and analyse your game's data. Usually, our sentiment system works on a -99 to 99 scale based on how positive or negative an interaction toward your game is.
However, Issue Severity Sentiment instead works on a 0 to 100 scale and analyses your data on how severely negative an interaction is, with 0 being not severely negative, 100 being severely negative and 50 being neutral. For example, if an interaction towards your game is very negative it should be scored between 60 - 100, and if an interaction is relatively positive it should be scored between 0 - 40.
This form of sentiment can help you not only identify a negative conversation but also how severe of an issue in your game the topic of discussion is. Below is an example of how it looks when Issue Severity Sentiment is enabled.
Show Industry Average Sentiment on Charts
When this setting is enabled, you can toggle another sentiment line on Sentiment Change charts that shows you the average sentiment for the industry. You can use this on sentiment charts to compare your game's sentiment with the rest of the industry's average and get an idea of how positively or negatively your game is perceived in the industry.
Default to Flattened Sentiment
Flattened Sentiment allows you to see your game's average sentiment as if each person in the community only had one sentiment score, rather than scores from multiple comments. This means that players with a 'louder voice' that comment multiple times in the community impact your game's sentiment less so that all players have an equal impact on your game's sentiment.
Players who comment more than average will impact your sentiment more than someone who comments just once which can determine how positive or negative your game's sentiment is. Therefore you may want to see how your sentiment differs if all players had an equal voice in the community.
Enabling this setting on the Hub will make Flattened Sentiment your default form of sentiment for all of your games. You can also temporarily enable Flattened Sentiment when viewing one of your games by clicking Options and selecting "Flattened Average" (shown below).
Show Constructive Items by Default in Talking Points
Constructive items are posts & interactions in the community that contain useful or insightful feedback and are related to a specific area of your game. Interactions that are deemed not constructive by Player XP usually do not provide any sort of real feedback and may not be directed towards anything specific in the game. For example, a constructive comment may look like this: "The gameplay is great because..." however, a non-constructive comment may look like this: "I don't like this game".
When this setting is enabled, only constructive items will be used in the Talking Points feature on your dashboard (shown below).
If you disable this setting, all interactions including non-constructive items will be included in the data in the Talking Points feature.
