Thanks for choosing to introduce Player XP to your studio and your team. To assist you with your setup, we've created the following article to walk you through your first experience and to provide you with some tips on how to get the most out of Player XP.
Setting up a Scheduled Email
One of the benefits of introducing Player XP to your team is the ability to set up automated weekly email blasts that can help update team members who may not be spending as much time in the dashboard as you. To do this, navigate to the Hub page and select "Notification Settings" and select your chosen game.
Once you've selected the game you'd like to set up a weekly email, enter each person's email address that you'd like to send it to and then configure what day/time you'd like it to be sent and click "Save" to confirm the email. You can also send yourself an instant email anytime you wish.
If you find that our email lands in your spam folder, please select to remove it from spam. If it continues to land in your spam folder, toggle the "Use Alternate Sender" option as this uses a different service and should avoid spam issues.
Setting up a custom Twitter search
Should Twitter be one of the data sources you monitor through Player XP, you may wish to perform some custom searches. This custom search looks outside of your official Twitter accounts (we already monitor those for you!) and can detect "earned" interactions with customers. This can be done by selecting the "Settings" panel on the Hub page and then selecting "Twitter Custom Searches" from the tab menu.
To set up your custom Twitter Search, enter a broad name for your custom search, i.e "New Season", this acts as a name for the search but doesn't represent anything we use to search, this is just for your own labelling purposes. Next up, enter your search term in the "Search Query" box. Should you wish to search for multiple terms, you can do this by clicking on the "+" icon. This system is great if your game has abbreviations or acronyms that you also want to monitor.
Integrating Instagram & Discord
Whilst many of our data sources will automatically be set up for you, a couple requires you to authenticate/install us on your official account.
For Discord, we have a slightly different process but one that is still very easy. If you can ensure you are logged into Discord on your web browser as a user with admin privileges, click here and follow the Discord bot install process. Once installed, we'll be able to bring your data through to Player XP.
You can also follow these guides on our Help Desk to help you easily authenticate Instagram & Discord.
Moving Forward
Once you've gone through the steps above, your dashboard should be ready to go and you should start seeing data coming through from your custom searches and authenticated sources shortly. To learn more about how to use Player XP, you can find our Getting Started articles here.
